Emergency Medicine Consultant - NZ
This is an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Physician to join a team of enthusiastic and motivated Senior Medical Officers. The successful applicant would augment the current team of 7 Senior Medical Officers in both providing direct clinical care and also offering supervision to the 14 Resident Medical Officers and 3 Emergency Nurse Practitioners in the department.
This hospital cares for both a rural community within this region located in New Zealand's 5th largest urban population. The Emergency Department sees a diverse case-mix, with a relatively high acuity, of over 47,000 attendances per annum (including over 10,000 children). Recently the department has benefitted from an expansion of clinical space including state of the art resuscitation bays.
The hospital is seeking applicants who are proactive and innovative, committed to the provision of excellent patient care and teaching. Clinicians interested in supporting process development in order to promote quality healthcare delivery will be highly regarded for this opportunity.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic participant in the development of the local Emergency Medicine training programme, and also encouraged to develop your sub-specialty interests.
To be eligible to apply for this opportunity you must hold a FACEM qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent training, experience, and examinations that would enable you to obtain Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and progression to recognition of training with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. www.mcnz.org.nz
