This role offers the successful candidate the chance to join the existing AOD staff and provides ongoing opportunities to further your career by assisting with the development of the service as part of your vital role.
The client base is in the region of 650, with an almost even split between Opioid Substitution Treatment and Generic Programmes. The team functions in a multi-disciplinary structure which comprises of Medical Officers, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers, Counsellors and Registered Nurses. Applicants wishing to work part-time will be considered for this full time role.
The position is based within the Alcohol & Other Drug Service on site of the main hospital. The hospital itself is a 350 bed secondary hospital, servicing a population of 80,000 and catchment area of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and has strong ties with both New Zealand Medical Schools.
The Location is a university city, at the hub of key routes to North Island and is small enough to be relaxed and friendly, with no commuting issues, but big enough to offer the education, career and lifestyle you would hope for. Major centres are just two hours away, as are wine regions, stunning coastline, and access to any outdoor pursuit you would wish.
